CET-IE leads an Emergency and Disaster Preparedness Seminar at San Jose

The College of Engineering and Technology - Industrial Engineering Department (CET—IE) successfully conducted its training on emergency and disaster preparedness for the Indigenous peoples of Sitio Socorro, Brgy. Moriones, San Jose, Tarlac, on November 14, 2022.
The Emergency and Disaster Preparedness Seminar is one of the projects under Environment Protection and Conservation, Disaster Risk Reduction, and Climate Change Adaptation to be delivered to the IPs of the municipalities of San Clemente, Mayantoc, San Jose, and Bamban, which will empower the selected IP communities in Tarlac.
Faculty members from CET- IE served as service providers, which included and were headed by Engr. Maricar N. Banting, Engr. Ann Jeannette S. Lopez, and Engr. Dick Tuazon. They are accompanied by Engr. Maan B. Florendo and Engr. Renz Paul Quiambao, the ECEST coordinator and College Extension Chairperson (CEC), and Mr. Danillo M. Alcantara, a staff member from DOST-PSTC.
The seminar was led by Engr. Banting and mainly focused on the dissemination of information on what to do during an emergency or disaster. Also, a demonstration on how to use a fire extinguisher and the discussion and distribution of leaflets that were personally done by the team and titled "Handa Ka Ba."
