On March 5, 2026, the project team of Kinabaknang Ti Mayantoc: A Treasure Trove of Mayantoc's Roots and Heritage conducted an archival research activity in various national institutions to gather historical materials related to the Municipality of Mayantoc. The activity was led by Project Head Mr. Bryan S. Dizon, together with Component Heads Ms. Vien Jamaica D. Samson and Dr. Izelle F. Gabion.
As part of the research initiative, the team visited the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) to conduct a consultation meeting with Mr. Dave Camacho, a history researcher from the agency. The consultation provided an opportunity to identify relevant historical sources, archival documents, and research directions that will support the documentation of Mayantoc's local history.
Following the consultation, the team proceeded to the National Library of the Philippines to search for books, manuscripts, and other reference materials containing historical accounts and records about the municipality. The researchers carefully examined available resources that could contribute to reconstructing Mayantoc's historical narrative.
The team also visited the National Archives of the Philippines to formally request access to archival documents and primary records that may provide additional information on the municipality's history, governance, and cultural heritage.
The archival research activity forms part of the continuing efforts of the Kinabaknang Ti Mayantoc Project to systematically document, preserve, and promote the rich history, culture, and heritage of the Municipality of Mayantoc.
