DAR Tarlac collaborates with TSU CET for technical consultancy

The Cabayaosan Farmers Agriculture Cooperative (CFAC) is currently based in the municipality of Paniqui. They began their operation on February 9, 2019. It has 85 members who are headed by Chairperson Rodrigo S. Gamino and Vice Chairperson Juan D. Lacambacal Jr. Presently, they have four members in charge of processing mushroom chicharron. Although Cabayaosan Farmers Agriculture Cooperative (CFAC) is expanding and becoming more popular locally and internationally, they are still striving to enhance their production and processing facilities to produce and ensure the quality of their mushroom chicharron product.

The Cabayaosan Farmers Agriculture Cooperative (CFAC) is currently based in the municipality of Paniqui. They began their operation on February 9, 2019. It has 85 members who are headed by Chairperson Rodrigo S. Gamino and Vice Chairperson Juan D. Lacambacal Jr. Presently, they have four members in charge of processing mushroom chicharron. Although Cabayaosan Farmers Agriculture Cooperative (CFAC) is expanding and becoming more popular locally and internationally, they are still striving to enhance their production and processing facilities to produce and ensure the quality of their mushroom chicharron product.

Through the partnership of TSU – College of Engineering and Technology and Department of Agrarian Reform – Tarlac, a professional assistance and technical consultancy entitled: “Technical Consultancy on the Preparation of Fire Detection and Alarm System (FDAS) with Bill of Materials (BOM) of a Food-Safety Compliant Facility Layout for Cabayaosan Farmers Agriculture Cooperative (CFAC)” was successfully conducted at Brgy. Cabayaosan, Paniqui, Tarlac. Its goal was to improve the CFAC’s production and processing facilities for its mushroom chicharron.

Prior to the drafting of the fire detection and alarm system using AutoCad, Expert Service Providers (ESPs) had an onsite visit held on January 12, 2023 and an interview with the beneficiary to gather information in regard to their electrical load. Following this, ESPs, including Engr. Aldrin Taduran. Engr. Idris Jeffrey Manguera, Engr. Raul Canlas, Engr. Alejando Caranto and Engr. Mark Benz Pineda, took action in the project’s implementation phase, which was to finalize the fire detection and alarm system, and proceeded with material specification and cost estimate of the design. On June 1, 2023, the output presentation was held at Brgy. Cabayaosan, Paniqui, Tarlac which was led by Engr. Taduran, the representative and project head of the said activity, together with other faculty experts from different engineering departments.

This extension activity of CET – Electronics Engineering Department contributes to Sustainable Development Goals (SDG); SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure since this activity allow the beneficiary to improve their production and processing facilities and SDG 17: Partnership for the Goals by establishing connections between TSU, DAR, and Cabayaoasan Farmer Agriculture Cooperative.
