Tarlac State University's College of Science held a capacity building workshop for Matatalaib High School teachers on February 8,
2023. The aforementioned seminar and workshop, titled "Rethink! Re-Learn, Re-Search! Capacity Building for Teachers of Matatalaib
High School" The primary objective of the this project is to establish teachers to provide basic knowledge and skills in action and applied
research methods, in addition to conduct and produce a quality research product to be submitted to the research department of the
Tarlac City School Division Office.

Furthermore, the extension service is split into two parts. During the morning session, resource speakers shared fundamental
knowledge about research and its methodologies. While, the teachers of Matatalaib High School presented their proposed research
study in the afternoon under the guidance and expertise of the resource speaker. During the workshops, coaching and mentoring on the establishment and output of the training session, as well as answering questions and concerns, were also observed. It will help teachers become more aware and increase their knowledge in research, which will also contribute to SDG 4: Quality Education, since the resource speakers encouthe establishmentrage teachers to carry out research utilizing school records or data. As a result, higher officials in the Department of Education, as well as teachers, can identify any issues that will assist students and schools in creating and delivering a quality and conducive education for their students.

Moreover, Mr. Tito Ariola, the Head Teacher of Matatalaib High School, expressed his gratitude for the Extension Service Providers'
presence and commitment. This type of seminar-workshop will increase his fellow teachers' capacity to enrich their potential capabilities in producing substantial and high-quality research studies.
In addition, Engr. Estrella Pagco, a College of Science faculty member, was one of the resource speakers, sharing her depth of
understanding and expanding on action research. She focussed on the following topics: the fundamentals of Action Research, the
advantages or positive outcomes of conducting it, the process or methods, the purposes or goals, and finally its significance. Also, she
shared some strategies and emerging trends in research writing to help them make their research more reliable and accurate as she
reiterated, the topic they wanted to study was determined by their interest.

On the other hand, Dr. Willie Alagano, another College of Science faculty member and also served as a resource speaker,
deliberated how to collect reliable data during research. Collecting data from your study is a significant part of conducting research. The
resource speaker stated that the data you gathered must align or parallel in order to justify that the actions are valid, which means that
the information represents what the researchers have asserted it does. Considering this, researchers can move on to the next method
by analyzing and interpreting the data they collected. Hence, researchers must devote some time to grasping and comprehending the fundamentals that will emerge in order to produce an effective and high-quality research study. Furthermore, the aforementioned seminar-workshop was beneficial to the Matatalaib High School teachers, who gained a wealth of knowledge and fruitful topics from the commitment and expertise provided by the resource
speakers.
