Project eCEST: Seminar on Profit Planning and Determination

Tarlac State University (TSU), through its faculty experts from the College of Business and Accountancy (CBA), conducted an extension activity in the form of a seminar on Profit Planning and Determination for IPs of Moriones, San Jose, Tarlac last June 20, 2022. The said extension activity is under the eCEST Project of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).

Tarlac State University (TSU), through its faculty experts from the College of Business and Accountancy (CBA), conducted an extension activity in the form of a seminar on Profit Planning and Determination for IPs of Moriones, San Jose, Tarlac last June 20, 2022. The said extension activity is under the eCEST Project of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).

The Extension Service Providers (ESPs) from CBA extended their expertise through knowledge transfer activity in which the beneficiaries were taught the basic concepts of Profit Planning and Determination. The topics pertaining to Sales, Inventory, Expenses, Profit and Prices were discussed by Mr. Derick Figueroa. Furthermore, its importance was also highlighted for the beneficiaries to fully understand their financial goals and how to achieve the business profit they planned since most of them aspire to establish their own small business.

Moreover, the ESPs prepared a simple group activity comprising a series of problem-solving related to profit planning and determination to better engage the beneficiaries in the discussion and apply the knowledge they have gained from the extension activity.

The extension activity was conducted with the end in mind of capacitating the IPs community with knowledge on profit planning and determination since it is vital in running a small or medium business. It aimed to increase the understanding of the IP community on how to determine the operational budget of their business to maximize their profit.  

This completed extension activity of CBA contributes to goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) of the Sustainable Development Goals Agenda.
