The Tarlac State University (TSU) – College of Architecture and Fine Arts (CAFA) was formally recognized by the Municipality of Camiling through a Plaque of Appreciation awarded during its first-ever Maria Clara Festival ceremony held on May 8, 2026, at the Maria Clara Auditorium in Camiling, Tarlac.
The recognition was conferred in acknowledgment of the college's valuable contribution through its extension service project titled "Detailed Architectural Design (DAD) with Bill of Materials (BOM) for the Rehabilitation of the Camiling Public Plaza." The project supported the municipality's efforts to improve and revitalize one of its significant public spaces while preserving its cultural heritage and promoting community development.
Through this initiative, TSU–CAFA provided professional architectural planning and technical assistance essential to the proposed rehabilitation of the public plaza. The project exemplified the college's commitment to community engagement by extending academic expertise beyond the classroom and into meaningful public service.
The Plaque of Appreciation also recognized the dedication, creativity, and collaborative efforts of the college in strengthening its partnership with the local government and contributing to impactful community development initiatives. The award stands as a testament to the vital role of higher education institutions in advancing sustainable, people-centered development through extension services.
This recognition further reinforces TSU–CAFA's mission of combining academic excellence with social responsibility by delivering extension programs that create lasting and meaningful benefits for partner communities.
