Tarlac State University's International Affairs and Linkages Office, in collaboration with the College of Education and the Office of the University Extension Services, successfully conducted the third session of the Healing Towards Environmental Awareness and Learning (HEAL) the World project on May 13, 2023. This initiative aims to raise awareness about environmental issues and promote sustainable practices in the community.
The HEAL the World project, a webinar workshop series, has been receiving an overwhelming response from participants who are eager to contribute to a greener tomorrow. The sessions provide valuable insights and knowledge on various environmental topics, helping participants understand the impact of their actions on climate change mitigation.
During the recent session, Mr. Jacob Gyobeom Kim, a distinguished researcher at the Korea Environment Institute, delivered a thought-provoking discussion on the role of community stakeholders and their practices in addressing climate change. Mr. Kim emphasized the importance of a collaborative effort between the public and the government to achieve effective climate change mitigation.
In his presentation, Mr. Kim highlighted the need for hand-in-hand workforce development to ensure sustainable practices are implemented at all levels of society. He stressed that community stakeholders, including individuals, businesses, and organizations, play a significant role in shaping environmental policies and taking responsible actions to reduce their carbon footprint. The upcoming sessions of the HEAL the World webinar workshop series are scheduled for June 10, 2023, and July 8, 2023. These sessions will continue to provide participants with valuable knowledge and practical strategies for creating a more sustainable future.
