Tarlac State University's College of Science, in collaboration with the Non-Governmental Organizations Global Outreach for
Community Empowerment and Pioneer Project Reach Inc., has extended their hands to support communities. The threeday outreach activities and seminar, which benefited the teachers and students of Carupaan Elementary School as well as
the community of Paracelis, Mountain Province, have indeed been completed.

The "Outreach Project in Anonat - Mountain Province" was held on January 27, 28, and 29 of 2023, with the goal of instilling
knowledge in our teachers and learners about environmental hygiene practices, climate change prevention, and eventually
providing hygiene-kit and school supplies were also given to their beneficiaries. Hence, the college's outreach project and
seminar - training were contributed to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Agenda's goals 1 (No Poverty), 2 (Good
Health and Well-Being), 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and 13. (Climate Action). Since one of the important subjects, they
highlighted was climate change mitigation. The outreach program focused on the distribution of hygiene kits, snacks, and
meals provided by the TSU-COS and NGOs, as well as portraying lessons on spreading health awareness. As a result of
this, community needs and challenges were identified. Furthermore, it was deemed commendable to foster, develop, and
support such far-flung areas to help by diminishing inequalities among other groups.

Mr. Jomer Manalang, a faculty expert and the current College Extension Chairperson from the College of Science, took an
active role by conveying a lecture on Stress Management. He emphasized the causes of stress and some ideas to cope
with it, by meditations. Such as Recognizing the Signs of Stress, Focusing on the Things You Can Control, and Taking Care
of Your Body, Mind, and Spirit. He also enlightens about the topic "Proper Nutrition," which aims to assess nutrition
knowledge and build the capacity for children, pregnant women, and people on therapeutic diets.
On the other hand, Dr. Alma Corpuz, another TSU - College of Science faculty member, served as the project's resource
speaker and project leader. She spoke on the topic "Environmental Health," which explicates what environmental health is,
expound on environmental factors that affect health, and elaborate on the fundamental ways to address environmental
factors that affect health. Also, the ESP emphasized the topic "Global Environmental Issues" that also are the primary factor
why the earth is experiencing the which so called "Climate Change". Thus, environmental issues are the negative
consequences of human activities on the environment. Pollution, overpopulation, waste disposal, climate change, global
warming, the greenhouse effect, biodiversity loss, phosphorus and nitrogen cycles, and others are examples.
Furthermore, following the constructive conversation, ESPs distributed hygiene kits and school supplies to Carupaan
Elementary School students. Additionally, with the assistance of Global Outreach for Community Empowerment and Pioneer
Project Reach Inc., led by Dr. Alma Corpuz, they provide and supervise the distribution of hygiene-kits, school supplies,
electric fans, school supplies, and the installation of electricity. Subsequently, ESPs have been also involved in the
community as they initiated a relief operation in Anonat, Mountain Province.

The said three-day outreach activities benefited approximately ninety-eight (98) beneficiaries. It was a worthwhile experience
to reach out to our fellow indigenous people who are less fortunate. Furthermore, Dr. Jeanyfer B. Cristobal, the School Head
of Karupaan Elementary School, was very grateful for the abundant blessings and knowledge gained brought by the TSU
and NGO who played an active role in achieving, spreading cherishes, and displaying a glimmer of hope to our students,
teachers, and community.
