Tarlac State University- College of Criminal Justice Education conducted a seminar and team building training extension activity entitled “AGOS: Amplifying the Genuinely Optimistic Officers through Solidarity” last Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Baras-Baras High School. The said activity aimed to educate the students that this leadership training is to empower the students as efficient and effective leaders of the student government, which, for a long-term goal, will enable them to become responsible and competent leaders of the country in the future.
Mr. Carl M. Fulloso expressed his appreciation for the unravel support and assistance they received from the CCJE Faculty resource speakers and facilitators. The mentioned extension activity will be convenient for them because they have discovered the leadership qualities in students help to develop a foundation for networking. Also, he continues to look forward to asking for another service that would be helpful in the future.
“One of the key characteristics of student leaders is initiative. By being proactive, we simply taking command of situations with passion and enthusiasm.” These are the words of Ms. Lian Carla C. Luzong as her opening remarks in the said activity. She alson mention that being a leaders among students don't wait around for opportunities to come to them. Opportunities are created by student leaders.
In order to get the participants excited about sharing their leadership experiences, Ms. Marie Fe F. Buscayno first highlighted the discussion of the many aspects of how leadership may improve a student's development in life. She said that as they pursue their career, students go through a number of life stages where it is necessary to have leadership skills. Students today must cope with a number of employment-related problems, professional difficulties, and conflicts between advantages and principles. Hence, in order to take on challenges, solve issues, and evaluate their career routes, leadership qualities are necessary.
Furthermore, Ms. Jelly Ann V. Mercado discussed the importance of being a great leader. She mentioned that being a great leaders demonstrate how something is done rather than telling you what to do. One who knows the way, shows the way, and follows through is a leader. It's also true that people do not naturally become leaders. Over time, students develop and polish their leadership skills. Whether you are a student or a worker for an organization, leadership is necessary in every field. Developing these abilities enables you to assume leadership and act quickly in unexpected situations. Life skills include leadership qualities.
As a result, the College of Criminal Justice Education extension program has contributed to SDG Goal 4 (Quality Education), as the seminar promotes lifelong learning and raises awareness as students today need to possess the quality of leadership. Being distinctive from the crowd is crucial in a competitive world. Every student has the potential to be a leader; all you need to do is find the drive to do it.
