CAFA BRINGS ‘COLORS’ TO COMILLAS HIGH SCHOOL

Empowering the students with the opportunity to hone their artistry and creativity through various activities, College of Architecture and Fine Arts (CAFA) Faculty Experts and student volunteers from the SIKHAYO Student Organization of the Fine Arts and Architecture Department served as extension service providers in a two-day Mural Painting Workshop for the Comillas High School on May 17-18, 2023.

As part of the extension project entitled Abe-Yabe Gugulis: A Mural Painting Workshop, the project featured a series of seminars and trainings spearheaded by the CAFA Faculty Experts to provide knowledge and skills for the learners of the aforementioned partner beneficiary.

Ms. Princess Gabrielle Masanque, Mr.Kenneth Leo V. Pamlas, and Mr. Edno T. Joson discussed topics on innate and acquired skills as an artist, tips on arts, and mural ideas to the Comillas High School on the project’s first day.

Following the series of seminars, the Comillas High School, SIKHAYO, and the Faculty Experts proceeded with the mural painting activity. It was successfully completed on the second day of the project.

The extension project delivered contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), specifically SDG 4 – Quality Education and SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities. It helps to ensure quality education, human capacity development, and promotion of language, arts, history, and culture, which is vital for long-term development.
