This morning of March 25, faculty expert Ms. Jazmin Joy Dizon from the TSU College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) shared her knowledge on combatting sexism in the workplace, particularly in the educational setting.

During her discussion, Ms. Dizon talked about the sources of sexism and its psychological effects.

“Sexism is very much experienced, not just here in the Philippines, but everywhere around the world,” she said.

She also discussed how gender bias continues to impact women and how to mitigate and overcome the unconscious sexism in the workplace. At the end of her presentation, Ms. Dizon emphasized that we are all part of women empowerment.

Twenty teachers of Balete Elementary School, Tarlac City headed by their school principal, Mr. Danilo D. Casiño, attended the virtual seminar.

The completed extension activity of the CASS contributes to goal 5 (Gender Equality) and goal 10 (Reduced Inequalities), which are part of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Agenda.
