Providing online-based accessibility to information on the University’s extension undertakings, the OUES’ PMERS is an in-house collaboration with the Office of Management Information System and the College of Computer Studies and was recognized as one of the winners in the Government Best Practices Recognition awarded by the Development Academy of the Philippines in December 2021.
Highlighting PMERS’ key features, Engr. Emir Lenard S.F. Sicangco discussed how the system aids on the monitoring and retrieval of extension documents providing ease of access and sustainability of resources.
Headed by its EMO Director Dr. Rolan J. Malvar, the PUP Delegation requested the assistance of the OUES to better guide the development of their own version of the PMERS that would efficiently handle their university’s extension data and information later on.
During the discussion, the Chief of PUP’s Extension Evaluation and Monitoring Center Dr. Edcon B. Baccay pointed out PUP’s difference on the categorization of extension services and that necessary improvements will be undertaken by the delegation.
Also present in the benchlearning activity were the Extension Management Cluster Coordinators of PUP’s Campuses, namely: Mr. John Amiel A. Rivera, Dr. Dorren D. Arenque, Dr. Mercy O. Manalo, and Dr. Edna T. Bernardo who have also positively remarked the innovations of the OUES.
Building long-lasting partnership and network has become the offshoot of the activity through the opportunity offered by the PUP Delegation to TSU to become a future member of the International Multi-Disciplinary Research and Extension Consortium which will convene in October of this year.
