The Tarlac State University through the Office of the University Extension Services (OUES) launched its 1st Community Development Projects (CDEP) and Capacity Building for Project Implementation was conducted on April 20, 2023, at the Alumni Center, Villa Lucinda Campus. The TSU-OUES is humbled and grateful to acknowledge and feature the promising reform-oriented and impact-driven TATAK TSU extension projects undertaken by the colleges and offices in collaboration with the community and industry sectors.
Dr. Murphy P. Mohammed, Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension (VPRDE), presented the approved projects during the introduction of the first Community Development Projects. The initiatives' goal is to meet the community's needs and provide them with long-term sustainable interventions that will contribute to their development.
Following the project presentations, agreements were made between TSU, partner-beneficiaries, and project proponents. The Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between TSU and partner-beneficiaries describes both parties' roles and obligations, whereas the MOA between TSU and project proponents outlines the project's terms and conditions.
Ms. Myra S. Salvosa, a representative of the partner-beneficiaries, offered a heartfelt remark highlighting the beneficiaries' critical participation in the aforementioned projects. Dr. Maria Agnes P. Ladia, on the other hand, offered her message on behalf of the Project Leaders, emphasizing the university's role in providing quality extension services to the beneficiaries and expressing optimism for continued cooperation from both parties.
The said launching marks a significant milestone in the university's strategic shift from a reactive mode of delivering short-term extension activities to a proactive mode of initiating and developing impact-driven sustainable projects through the colleges.
