The Department of Civil Engineering (DCE) officially turned over project plans to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – Tarlac on March 30, 2026, in Parsolingan, Gerona, Tarlac. The extension activity was led by Department Head Engr. Neil Andrew I. Meneses, together with Engr. Charmaine Czeninia Reguindin, Engr. Luis Angelo Lacson, Engr. Karl Angelo Clarete, Engr. Justin Bernard Hasegawa, Engr. Bonjoebee Bello, and Civil Engineering students. The formal submission of the technical documents marked the completion of a collaborative effort to address local scouring issues through academic expertise and engineering innovation.
This extension project focused on analyzing scouring patterns at Pier 5 of the Agana Bridge and evaluating the effectiveness of a proposed groundsill structure in reducing erosion. The study aimed to provide the DPWH with data-driven insights to support bridge maintenance, enhance structural resilience, and guide future rehabilitation and protection initiatives.
