Museo De Moncada Takes A Step Forward

A significant step was taken towards preserving and showcasing Moncada's rich history and culture as the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Tarlac - Committee on Tourism, led by Board Member Pearl Erguiza Pacada, convened a hearing to discuss MUNICIPAL ORDINANCE NO. 2025-003. The proposed ordinance aims to establish the Museo de Moncada at the Luis Morales Public Auditorium, defining its purpose and appropriating necessary funds.
Moncada Tourism Officer Andrew Corpuz attended the hearing, highlighting the importance of this initiative in promoting local tourism and cultural heritage. Coun. Mike Baldonado Uycoco, Chairperson for the Committee on Tourism, Culture, and the Arts, together with Councilor Ar. Justin Espejo Quijano, Vice Chairperson for the Committee on Tourism, Culture, and the Arts, expressed their support for the project, emphasizing its potential to boost and foster community pride.
Notably, the Museo de Moncada is part of a collaborative effort between the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Moncada and Tarlac State University's (TSU) Center for Community and Local Governance Studies and Policy Development. This partnership underscores the university's commitment to preserving cultural heritage and promoting community development through innovative initiatives.
The Museo de Moncada promises to be a valuable addition to the town's cultural landscape, offering a space for residents and visitors to learn about and appreciate Moncada's history and traditions.
The Museo de Moncada Ordinance was made possible through the Executive Request of Former Mayor now Vice Governor Estelita M. Aquino, Sponsored by then Councilor George Michael Aguilar and Councilor Thelmaflor Espejo, and passed by the 11th Sangguniang Bayan of Moncada, Tarlac led by former Vice Mayor now Mayor Ramon Benito "RB" M. Aquino.
