On September 30, 2025, the Marketing Management department conducted an extension activity entitled “Seminar and Workshop on Marketing Tools and Strategies: Segment, Target and Position” at the Event Center in Pura, Tarlac. The activity was attended by members of the PWD Association and Linao Women’s Association, aiming to equip participants with fundamental knowledge in marketing, specifically on how to properly identify and reach their target market.
The seminar featured three knowledgeable speakers. Ms. Reissa Joselle Gopez opened the session with a recap of the Marketing Mix (Product, Price, Place, and Promotion), then introduced the concept of Segmentation Strategy, focusing on identifying the right market through geographic, demographic, behavioral, and psychographic factors. Ms. Ronalyn Anne Marie Diaz followed with a discussion on Targeting Strategy, emphasizing how selecting the right consumer group can help meet specific needs and improve business profitability. Lastly, Ms. Valerie Figueroa presented the Positioning Strategy, discussing how to shape how customers perceive a product and explaining the key elements of good positioning: clear, relevant, different, and memorable.
To apply what they learned, participants engaged in a workshop where they created their own positioning statements for their products or services. The workshop was guided by Ms. Ma. Aimee Valenzuela, who provided hands-on support and feedback. The activity was a meaningful opportunity for the participants to gain practical marketing skills that can help strengthen their livelihood and entrepreneurial efforts within their respective communities.
