Department of Communication Cultivates Journalism Knowledge to Various Schools in Tarlac

The Communication Department of Tarlac State University held campus journalism training and workshops at various schools in Tarlac from October to December 2024, aiming to develop the skills of aspiring journalists.
Faculty experts from the department served as judges, speakers, and trainers for district and school-based competitions and intensive training sessions covering various aspects of journalism. These included news writing, copyreading, headline writing, feature writing, editorial writing, and cartooning. The training sessions were designed to enhance the students' technical skills while also fostering a passion for storytelling and truth-seeking.
The workshops and competitions took place at several schools, including Ramos National High School, Quezon National High School, La Paz National High School, Bonifacia G. Soliman High School, Northern Hills Elementary School Annex, Paludpud Elementary School, and Matatalaib High School. The department aimed to not only improve students' technical abilities but also instill values such as ethical reporting, critical thinking, and responsible communication.
