The Center for Community and Local Governance Studies and Policy Development (CCLGSPD) held a coordination meeting with the Mayantoc Tourism Office on October 2, 2025, in Mayantoc, Tarlac to advance the municipalityโs initiative of writing and documenting its history.
The project, titled โKinabaknang Ti Mayantoc: A Treasure Trove of Mayantocโs Roots and Heritage,โ seeks to establish a comprehensive and well-researched historical account of the municipality. During the meeting, the parties presented and reviewed the proposed project plan. The proposal highlighted the key objectives of the undertaking, which include gathering historical accounts, consolidating archival documents, and engaging community stakeholders in order to build an accurate and meaningful narrative of Mayantocโs past.
A significant portion of the meeting was also dedicated to the review of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), which will formalize the partnership between the two institutions. The MOA defines the collaborative roles, responsibilities, and commitments needed to ensure the smooth implementation of the project.
The initiative is supported by external funding amounting to approximately half a million pesos for research and extension undertakings, reflecting the importance and scale of the project. This funding will provide resources necessary for research, documentation, and community involvement throughout the process.
The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both CCLGSPD and the Mayantoc Tourism Office expressing strong support and commitment to the endeavor. Their partnership is expected to pave the way for a meaningful historical documentation process that will contribute significantly to the municipalityโs cultural development and educational enrichment.
