The Center for Community and Local Governance Studies and Policy Development (CCLGSPD) has commenced its series of interviews with local resource persons from the Municipality of Mayantoc as part of the “Kinabaknang Ti Mayantoc” Project, a research and documentation initiative that seeks to preserve and celebrate the town’s rich history, culture, and traditions.
On November 7, 2025, Mr. Bryan Jan Dizon, Ms. Vien Jamaica D. Samson, and Dr. Izelle F. Gabion visited the municipality to conduct in-depth interviews with Mayantoc locals. The session focused on gathering personal narratives, recollections, and community stories that shed light on the origins, milestones, and cultural identity of the town. The activity was conducted with the valuable assistance of the Tourism Office of Mayantoc, headed by Ms. Aura Louella Agustin, whose support helped facilitate coordination and engagement with local participants.
This initial interview marks only the first part of the documentation process. Another round of interviews will be scheduled soon to engage a new set of resource persons, further enriching the historical and cultural narrative of Mayantoc.
