The Center for Community and Local Governance Studies and Policy Development (CCLGSPD) held an initial meeting with Hon. Iluminado E. Pobre Jr., Mayor of Mayantoc, Tarlac, and the Municipal Tourism Office on September 19, 2021. The discussion focused on the municipality’s request for assistance in establishing and documenting the history of Mayantoc.
During the meeting, the parties identified key areas to prioritize in the study and reviewed the historical accounts already available to the municipality. Mayor Pobre expressed his full support for the project, recognizing its importance in preserving Mayantoc’s cultural heritage and strengthening community identity.
This collaborative effort seeks to develop a more comprehensive narrative of Mayantoc’s past, which will serve as a foundation for cultural preservation, tourism development, and fostering local pride.
