The ABM Strand of Jose V. Yap National Highschool successfully held an Accounting and Financial Literacy Seminar with esteemed speakers Mr. Lawrence D. Sempio and Mr. Joshua Q. Poquiz. The program opened with a prayer, national anthem, and welcoming remarks from Ma’am Dina, followed by an inspirational message from the School Principal, Mr. Lawrence Santiago.
The seminar highlighted essential topics such as the fundamentals of accounting, financial literacy, NCIII Bookkeeping, books of accounts, and the accounting cycle. Students learned practical applications like recording transactions, preparing ledgers, understanding financial statements, and the importance of registering businesses with the BIR. This meaningful discussion not only deepened their knowledge in accounting but also inspired them to prepare for future careers in business and finance.
