Today, a significant milestone was achieved at the Tarlac State University with the successful conduct of the Orientation on New and Revised Extension Policies and System Forms for teaching and non-teaching personnel.

The virtual event, held via Zoom, was a crucial step in ensuring that all participants are well-acquainted with the latest updates in extension services.

The orientation was kicked off by Asst. Prof. Maricor Cheska B. Santos, the Presidential Communications Secretary, who delivered the opening remarks on behalf of TSU President Dr. Arnold E. Velasco. In her address, Asst. Prof. Santos underscored the university's commitment to enhancing its extension programs and the importance of these new policies in fostering a more efficient and effective extension service environment.

Engr. Emir Lenard S.F. Sicangco, the Director of the Office of University Extension Services (OUES), provided an in-depth overview of the newly approved extension policies such as the privileges, incentives and allowances of extension personnel and extension service providers; granting of credit hours for rendered extension services; and roles in extension programs, projects and activities. Meanwhile, Asst. Prof. Aljon N. Lusong, the Department Head of Extension Services Management Department (ESMD) and Extension Affairs and Linkages Department (EALD), conducted a comprehensive demonstration of the step-by-step process for completing extension project proposals. These emphasize the role of teaching and non-teaching personnel in supporting the university’s’ mission to extend help and create impact within the community.

The orientation also included interactive Q&A sessions, where attendees had the opportunity to clarify matters and engage with the speakers. Overall, the orientation was met with positive feedback from the participants, who appreciated the clarity and thoroughness of the presentations.

As TSU continues to adapt and evolve, the updates to extension policies and system forms are expected to enhance the university's extension services and impact.
