In a proactive move to assess and enhance the university's extension efforts, the Office of University Extension Services (OUES) recently concluded its Second Quarter Meeting with the College Extension Department Heads (CEDHs). This was held at the Lecture 1 Room of the Center for Food and Technology Research, and the meeting served as a platform to review past achievements, address concerns and strategize for future extension endeavors.

Engr. Emir Lenard Sicangco, OUES Director, presided the meeting and commenced with the confirmation of the minutes from the previous quarter's meeting. Engr. Sicangco proceeded to update and discuss the newly approved extension guidelines and policies. Among the highlights were matters concerning service credits and honorarium, roles of extension service providers (ESPs), and streamlined processes for the submission of extension proposals.

Furthermore, Engr. Sicangco sought the support of the CEDHs in encouraging the ESPs to participate in upcoming capacity development initiatives of the office and external research conferences, underscoring their significant roles in extension services which would contribute to the University’s vision of becoming a globally competitive university.

Ms. Jay Ann Pablo, head of the Planning and Performance Department (PPMD), presented a comprehensive overview of both university-wide and college-specific extension achievements. This provided a platform to celebrate successes and identify areas for improvement.

During the meeting, several CEDHs raised concerns regarding earned credit hours and the delivery of extension services. These concerns were promptly addressed to ensure efficient service delivery. It was also announced that for the meantime, Mr. Aljon Lusong will handle both the Extension Service Management Department (ESMD) and the Extension Affairs and Linkages Department (EALD) while Ms. Pablo will manage both the PPMD and the Technology and Knowledge Management Department (TKMD).

The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment from all extension personnel to uphold the university's mission of developing and sustaining inclusive and relevant extension programs.
