A Webinar on Magna Carta of Women R.A. 9710 was held yesterday (March 29, 2022) via Google Meet by the College of Arts and Social Sciences Communication Department.

Mr. Winifredo Liwanag Luis from the CASS served as a resource speaker. He discussed the definition of the Magna Carta of women and the rights of women. More so, he also discussed the role and responsibilities of the government under the Magna Carta of Women.

Moreover, he emphasized that all government offices, including government-owned and controlled corporations and local government units need to adopt gender mainstreaming as a strategy for implementing the law and attaining its objectives.

The webinar aims to provide expertise on the comprehensive women's human rights law that seeks to eliminate discrimination against women by recognizing, protecting, fulfilling, and promoting the rights of Filipino women, especially those in the marginalized sectors.

Teachers from Northern Hill Elementary School Main attended the said webinar.

This completed extension activity of CASS is contributory to goal 5 (Gender Equality) of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)
